- 6 cups (3/4 half gallon) of apple cider
- 4 large sweet apples, cut in quarters
- 4 large tart apples, cut in quarters
- 3 cup sugar
- 1 tbs. lemon juice
- Cinnamon to taste
- Cook cider in a large pot over low heat for several hours until only half remains. Add apples and cook until tender. Put apple mixture through a food mill. Combine apple mixture with sugar, salt, and lemon juice. Pour into a large baking pan and bake at 300 degree F for 3 – 4 hours. Stir occasionally.
