I wanted to come up with a more creative name for this dish. Mashed Potanips… Mashed Turnatoes?! I’ll have to think about it some more but for now I’ll just tell it like it is- mashed potatoes with a turnip twist.
2 potatoes, peeled and quartered
2/3 pound turnips, peeled and cut into chunks
When I decided to try this recipe, I was a little leery that it wasn’t worth the extra effort and that it would be easier to make regular mashed potatoes. Definitely worth the effort and I will definitely be making it again soon!
4 lbs red potatoes
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp salt
