Spring Greenhouse Homeschool Classes

Want to help your students learn about how things grow in a hands on environment?

We’re hosting a time for an educational tour for homeschool students and their families. These classes are primarily geared for students ages 5-12 years old or 4-10th grade  (younger and other siblings may purchase tickets as well, but educational focus will be as indicated per class).

  • Time in the greenhouse seeing how plants grow.
  • Hands on lesson about greenhouse and plant related topics (see below for exact topic for each class)
  • Snack (donuts and cider).
  • Talk about how things grow in a hands on environment.
  • Class lasts approximately one hour.

Limited to first 20 participants to register per time slot.  Please purchase tickets in advance as space is limited.  It is unlikely there will be spaces available the day of the event.

Cost: $7/ child.  Children 0-23 months are free {assuming that they don’t want craft, snack, planting…and are OK with sitting on mommy’s lap}.  Any children ages 2 years to 16 years who attend must have ticket.spring greenhouse field trips

  • March 23 10-11am, 11:30-12:30pm:  Spring Greenhouse Planting Class (5-12 yrs old focus)
  • April 28 10am-11am, 11:30-12:30pm: Flower Dissection Class & Plant Biology Class (4th-10th grade focus)
  • April 30 10am-11am, 11:30-12:30pm: Flower Dissection Class & Plant Biology Class (4th-10th grade focus)
  • May 26 10am-11am, 11:30-12:30pm: Focus on learning about parts of plants we eat and includes wagon ride (5-12 yr old focus)
  • May 28 10am-11am, 11:30-12:30pm: Focus on learning about parts of plants we eat and includes wagon ride (5-12 yr old focus)

Class Descriptions:

Spring Greenhouse Planting Class:  this class will focus on concepts of light, soil, photosynthesis and planting plants.
Flower Dissection & Plant Biology Class:  will focus on parts of the plant and more in depth plant biology concepts.

What do you eat class:  this class focuses on parts of the plant we eat.  Learning about different plants we eat.  It also includes a wagon ride around the farm.
